Well, enough time has past since my last post that I don't think that anyone will be reading my blog for some time, not a problem for me.
Since my last post I have graduated from law school, started a new job, and bought a new house. In addition to that, tragically, Aunt Ruthy past away. A lot has happened in my life this summer and I have not been following President Woodruff's counsel to write in all down in a journal. This will be my attempt to recap this past summer.
I am so happy to be out of law school. I don't miss it a bit, but I do miss my friends. My new job is interesting. I really just follow the judge around. I discuss cases with him, talk about solutions, I edit his opinions, I attend mediations with him (both criminal and civil) and I help him prepare for the criminal calendar each week (arraignments and sentencings essentially).
My job is kind of like a small town law and order. I have met one murderer, one rapist, lots of drug addicts, lots of burglars, and many very strage people.
One guy lived with his dead wife and daughter for several years. I have also met a cross dressing meth addict. And you thouht (or I thought) little old Burley, Idaho was so innocent. I have more but am afraid of breaching confidentiality!!! Stupid ethics...I just don't thin I should post my stories publically...
My boss is awsome. He his my former Stake President and a former mission president. He loves to hunt and fish and he has endless interesting stories (which I need to write down...). I couldn't be learning from a better person.
It was sad this summer to have Aunt Ruthy pass away so young. I felt, feel, so bad for Larry and his kids. Going to the funeral was so good for me personally. It was so good to be around family, and to mourn her together. I remembered just how much I loved her and how much I love her family. Jase, Matt, Jess, and Meg were like siblings to me growing up.
My daugher Afton is growing so fast. She loves to talk, giggle, grab her toes while on her back, go on walks, etc. I really feel that was a special, sweet and kind spirit in the pre-existence. Call it Daddy intuition.
Well I will pick up again later. I am going to go an a walk with my wife and beautiful baby. I need to choose a better name for my blog!

Your job sounds so interesting! I would love to follow YOU around for a day ... AND meet your beautiful daughter.
Very interesting job-- sounds like my job as a caseworker-- except I got all of the criminals before they were old enough to throw into big people's jail!! Let's see....I was in charge of a prostitute, meth addict, several sex offenders, and so on. It was a real eye opening job to say the least. I think I am more paranoid now! (and more grateful!)
oops! I thought that I posted this on my personal blog!!! Sorry!
no worries, I can read your mind anyway
Actually I'm glad you posted here. It was nice to read your thoughts.
