One, but she will try to save the glass cover that goes over the bulb as the chair she is standing on wabbles beneath her and bust her arm just above the wrist in a nice clean break that will be too swollen to put a cast on.
Don't worry though, she was well drugged up last night when I saw her and she gets a cast on Monday. I also got to wrap all your gifts and see what you got for Christmas! She does have one request though...and that is you submit funnier stories for her to tell others to help her not feel so silly about her true one!

Sorry Mom!! I don't have any stories of mishaps of that nature. I have never actually broken a bone- (knock on wood!!!)I have had close calls from doing the same things-- balancing precariously on various unstable, small, furniture items-- I just hope that it doesn't catch up with me, too!! (Do you guys need a ladder for Christmas??)
Ack! Well we can send Ian down to be your little helper. Please? Can we send him?
p.s. Did anybody notice Cris's blog? Its all in English for those of us who are Portuguese impaired.
So sorry dear Aunt! I twisted my ankle playing tennis and trying to show off. That didn't turn out so well. Shall we say humiliation?? (is that how that is spelled??)
I hope that you are feeling better soon. Maybe we can come draw a picture on your cast!
Oh yeah! Mom get some cool colors on your cast! You only get this experience once in a life time...well maybe.
Well, here's what really happened...
On second thought, maybe I'd better not.
So sorry about your mishap! I guess you could tell the story that you were fighting off a mugger and punched him sooooo hard that it snapped your wrist. Then you could say, "if you think this is bad, you should see the mugger!"
You were out shopping on black Friday. You had your hands on a sweet plasma television when this 18 year old boy clubbed you on the head with a Hannah Montana karaoke set. You fell and the tv landed on your arm. The boy picked the tv up, stepped on your arm, and walked away. You stood up, picked up the Hannah Montana toy with your good hand and threw it 50 feet across the store to hit the kid in the neck. The security guards saw only your final action and escorted you out of the sore.
I vote for mike's story...it is just too visually inviting.
Mike's story is very good. More people are likely to believe it than that I went base jumping or snowboarding. These images are definitely more appealing than being lumped in with all the older people who have fallen on our condo street in the past week. I definitely have to get a new life
It could be worse Jan. You could have been trying to cross your backyard monkey bars with play-dough on your hands and had your older brother keep telling you it isn't broken, you're faking it.
That is the saddest thing ever--you think you're home free after a certain age, ya know? But if it makes her feel better, she does look like she's about 20-something in that picture!
Well, you know when you hit a certain age those old bones get a little brittle. I can't think of a worse time of year to break an arm. Although it is a good excuse to get other people to do things like wrapping gifts for you. I'm so sorry. Will the cast be off by February? Call me if you need help with any mom things!
Oh, poor Jan! I am so sorry about this! I've never had the misfortune of a broken bone (knock on wood!) and I can only imagine how painful and irritating it must be to do everyday things. I hope it heals quickly!
ATTENTION ALL STUBBS! I AM MISSING QUITE A FEW OF YOUR ADDRESSES. IF YOU ARE IN MY EXTENDED FAMILY (or a friend) WOULD YOU PLEASE EMAIL ME YOUR CURRENT ADDRESS? If you do you will be receiving an adorable picture of my kids. How could you refuse such an offer??! send them to suziepetunia at gmail dot com
Thanks!
Here's a story for you. You were climbing up the slide from the wrong end at school, jumped off half way up to catch a bar that any unadventurous person would think was out of reach. You missed the bar and fell on your arm breaking it. Oh, wait a second. That is what Ethan did a couple of weeks ago. Nevermind, it's already taken. We're sorry to hear about your arm. Maybe it is something in the water right now...
