Testing all eyes

We took Ian to the optometrist yesterday. One of the preliminary tests he was given was a color blindness test. Since he was scared, I held him on my lap while the optometrist stood in front of him to administer the test. Wendy sat behind the optometrist while she held up cards with patterns of dots (as seen above) and asked Ian to identify the number on each page. Ian responded, "There is no number," even while he clearly identified the colors on each page. I looked over the optometrist's shoulder and mouthed to Wendy "I can't see any numbers either." When Ian was given the alternative test of tracing a pink line through a maze of other colors, he passed without error and told the optometrist that some of the pink dots were purple. She laughed because he was right. Ian is not color blind. I, however, am not so sure about myself, so I came home and looked up some tests on the internet. I failed them all. I can identify all of the colors in the tests and verify them with Wendy, but I cannot see the pictures or numbers that I am supposed to see.

So here is my question for you: What do you see in the image above?
What do you see in the image below?

I see a sailboat in the first picture and I see the numbers 29 and 70 in the second...how did I do?

I see a boat and the numbers 70 and 29--- all without reading Jared's comments above....

I am really curious about you, Mike....Hmmmm.

I see nothing in the first frame and the number 70 in the second.

I got the sailboat and the number 29 in the second picture...but I didn't see the 70 until I read above comments and looked again.. Hmmm.

so what are the right answers?

Come on, Jared! There is no right and wrong on this. I'm just color-different. Alright!....Ok, the answer is: If you see a sailboat, you are not color blind. If you see nothing, you are. If you see the number 29, you are not color blind. If you see the number 70, you have some form of color blindness.

The 50% donor of your genes:

1. Dark Brown and Light Brown dots
comprising a drawing a sailboat.

2. The second one is a pink 29, and a blue 7 with a part of a blue zero, which is overlaps with the 9.

I'm heartbroken every time my dad misses out on something beautiful in nature due to stupid color blindness...the neglected disability in our country, no doubt. Try to come up with a good lawsuit, so you can pave the way for the visually color-impaired (colorly visual-impaired?) everywhere.
By the way, what color do the flames look next to the brush? I'm a little worried about your fire-fighting career.

That's weird that you are only now discovering what you can't see certain colors Mike....

I guess that I am partially color blind because I can see the blue in the second picture. I am going to look into this lawsuit idea, maybe I can use my partial color blindness to pay off my law school debt.

The only law suit is to sue your parents. Hmmmm. I am afraid the statute of limitations has run. So sorry.

We could create a new protected class under Title VII. CIVP Color Impaired Visually, Person VIPCO. Visually Impaired Person-Color. We could call them a "Not Colored Person" or an Uncolored Person. Or a "Black and White Person".

Oh well.

But I am not really color blind. I can identify the colors present in all of the slides. I just can't identify the images. That's why I say I am just color-different. In fact, Wendy and I have only noticed anything when I sometimes call a blue shirt, purple. I'm not suing my parents. I am suing anyone who discriminates against me for being color-different.

you are not colorblind if you can see both numbers.... only if you can only see one of the numbers!
