The kids played a great game tonight. I noticed that LL kept falling down more often and I thought it was just because she was playing harder than usual (which I don't know if that is possible for her-- she plays until she drops.) One kid pushed her down at one point, and the ref called it. She pointed the kid right out to the ref after it happened. On the way home, she told me that the kids kept pushing her. I asked which one and she said, "the freckley one". I got a call from her coach later this evening. He said his wife overheard the other team's coach saying, "Just shove her down-- keep pushing her down if you have to." Our coach filed a complaint to the league against this loser coach. Turns out the "freckle" kid is the coach's son.
First of all-- come on! The opponent actually was doing pretty good-- they got frustrated and mad toward the middle of the game, of course. Secondly, what kind of a loser father teaches his son to shove kids --that it is okay-- not only that, to treat GIRLS that way. As a female, I don't expect to have males show me any kind of special favors, but I do expect respect. I am disgusted a father would tell his son to do that. Come on-- they are six years old, the fat thirty-something year old coach has his ego wrapped up in a soccer game played by kindergartners? Just because their coach was a pansy and a wimp when he played sports-- he has to try and make up for it in his son?!? He better be afraid-- very afraid. I know my husband is over a foot taller than him and could strike some fear in him with his presence, but instead he will have a real reason to fear the opposite sex-- not just on the soccer field. He better hope he never runs into me. I am one mad Mama.

Sorry the video is a little blurry-- I think you can tell what is going on though.
Jules, Simple. Teach her how to slide tackle early in her career. As he is running by, just have her go for the "ball" on a fast slide and "accidentally" hit his feet. Works every time.
Dad (Former soccer coach, twelve(12) seasons. That's right, 12 seasons.0
I will take note of that and use it for later-- I am sure this will not be the first time this is going to happen.
You have one mad aunt on your side too! I think that loser coach is way out of line. Instead of teaching sportsmanship he's teaching cheating. Duh.
LauraLee is awesome!!!! I showed the video to Afton and she got all psyched up to kick the ball. Thanks for being a good roll model LL!
We think Afton has the makings of a great soccer player. We are going to send you to your house to take lessons from LL. Nice job LL! That was fun to see her out run all of the boys and score a goal.
Can I come down and help get the loser coach too?
Boo for bad sports. Sometimes I want to tell my son to hit back when I know a kid has been taught to push and slap, and I want to cry when my own son just gets up and walks away from kids who play like that. Great game LL!
Hey nobody treats my LL that way. Where's my ticket home?! grrr. You go LL
