Mom and I just watched "Miss Petegrew Lives for a Day". It was a good movie. We got it through Net-Flicks.

Just watched "Tinkerbell" with SO, and it was cute. Ummmm, Barbie Diamond Castle--- not so cute...Let's see.....haven't seen anything for ages 12 and up in a while. Sorry..

If you want a good series (mostly if you like BBC, Masterpiece Theater, etc.) I LOVED "Cranford"-- a BBC mini-series (really not long) based on the book by Elizabeth Gaskell. It was so good. Rich liked it, too.

Penelope is really good.

also these Foyle's war series that we are getting from the internet are really relly good. Lyndon and I can't get enoughof them and have gotten two other families hooked. Check your library out.

Also, we have checked out a few movies that were books written by George Elliot (female writer's pen name). She hit on a lot of political topics in her day. I like em.

Ummm, yeah, the George Eliot one was very BBC-ish (AKA not cool).

Foyle's War is awesome, and we aren't getting it from the internet, hence the "Check your library out."

The new Indiana Jones movie stunk it up. I just recently saw that. I think that it undid the coolness of the originals.

We saw Get Smart last weekend and it made us laugh really hard. It's great.

Just watched today "Becoming Jane" - based on the true story of Jane Austen. :o)

Okay-- just so you don't wonder about "Cranford" being BBC--- it IS but it is not the typical boring stuff. I promise it is good! Someone watch it and back me up-- or I guess let me know otherwise:)

George Elliott is good- she is good good writer.

Our first movie on Net Flix was "Get Smart". It was funny (except when he tried to mimic the old on, e.g., "Missed it by that much").

I didn't like the Indiana Jones either. In fact it was dumb. Not even in the same ball park as the other movies.

ah, um...er, I must admit that I did like the new Indiana Jones! Okay, okay, the swinging in the trees with the monkeys bit was totally retarded. Maybe Lyndon and I were hard up for some entertainment.

I really liked the movie up to the swinging in the trees with monkeys (who attack only Russians). From that point on, STUPID!!!!

I agree, does anyone remember that the boy gets his hand sliced by the sword just prior to the vine scene?
Indiana jones is about real things, all the computer anomated stuff got on my nerves, real man eating ants, real monkies, that's what I wanted. The hokey plot I don't mind so much, it was ok.

good movies I have recently seen include flushed away, and surfs up. Both anomated films but both really funny. The guys who do walace and gormit wrote Flush Away.

What? Indiana Jones is about real things?? I really thought that destroying angel in the first one was really authentic, how it made the one fellows face melt-- you are right...and the guy pulling the heart out of the other guys chest-- they did a good job at that, too:) (I am just giving you a hard time, Rich.) I do think that is funny about the monkeys-- we have yet to see it.

Abby and I also thought there was too much computer animation. I didn't like how it started. They played up the Indiana Jones symbols way to much. I didn't like the aliens bit either. The movie seemed forced, didn't flow smoothly and had a stupid ending. I didn't like the monkey or ant seen either. Miriam was a bad actress in this one. When there wasn't computer animation the movie seemed to be filmed on a cheap movie set.

I love BBC movies but I've read the book Cranford and it was boring. There wasn't even a main narrating character. Not sure if I'm ready to watch the movie!

That is what my friend said, Wendy. She said the book was really boring, too. I think that it must work much better as a screenplay because I loved it-- it seemed to be through the eyes of the cousin (or niece?) who comes to stay with the two main ladies (I can't remember their names and I want to say Dame Judy Dench because that is who plays one of them.....blah blah blah, I am running on...)

I did a TEVO or whatever of "The Tin Star" with Henry Fonda. Those are the good old days!! Also, i want to get a copy of "The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance" with Jimmy Stewart. He has a great line when John Wayne tells him to carry a gun to settle his disputes, he says, I can't do that I'm a Lawyer!!

I also Tevo'ed a lot of old movies like Casa Blanca, Witness for the Prosecution, etc.

Changed my ways
