Thanks so much everyone for your prayers and help. We sure can feel the help from above. I know this, he didn't inherit his patience and pain tolerance from his mother. He is truly what the scriptures describe as a little child, willing to submit to all things-- after what we put him through when we thought he just had the stomach flu and "bad gas"!!! I can't believe the tough little spirit that is in that little body.
Here at the hospital, you don't have to look too far to see those with greater burderns, so we are really grateful things turned out well.
I took the girls to Temple Square yesterday to stretch our legs and get out. They wanted to go to the top of the Church Office Building (at least SO did) and the lady taking us there showed us and a few tourists around the first floor before doing so. She walked us over to the mural of Christ with his Apostles after his resurrection and then to the statue of the pioneer couple burying their little baby on the trail. I couldn't hold back the tears and was almost sobbing, a combo of not crying for the last few days, no sleep, and an overwhelming feeling of gratitude that we live in a time when things like a ruptured appendix can be remedied in a small child.
We may be here for a little bit longer than Thursday. The nurse says that he needs to start eating solids before we can go back home and he just barely started to "eat" clear liquids. He also needs to be off all IV pain killers, and we are getting close to that. He isn't on morphine anymore and is just on an IV version of ibuprofen. He has walked a lot more today which is great. His side is still a little swollen, and they said that needs to go down. They said sometimes kids are sent home with a pic line for anti-biotics for a few weeks-- I really hope that doesn't happen!! We are optimistic that things will be fine. We are just glad we took him in and so we are willing to do whatever we can to get him all better.
Uncle Randy and Aunt Penny have generously let us use their home while they are gone, so we have been trading off and getting sleep there and resting. Thank goodness for family.
Thanks again for all your prayers! We are all happy and well. Let's here some good news soon from New Hampshire and welcome another one of those tough little spirits being sent down from above. Love you guys.

I'm glad LO is doing better. Poor guy.
Thanks for the update. Our prayers are constantly with LO and all you guys.
I am sure glad that he is o.k. and you are all doing well.
I am so grateful for the faith you kids (all of you) have. I think I am finally learning that true joy in life has absolutely nothing to do with the absence of troubles.
I don't pray for troubles, but I recognize more and more that when I pray to be a better person, what I get is troubles, challenges that once I figure out how to overcome them I will be that better person that I prayed to be.
I am so happy that Luke is recovering so well. The power of prayer is real.
Luke is very much in our prayers, and so is the rest of your family. You are all so loved!
Great to hear he's getting better...I can't wait to see him running around!
