In Bath tomorrow the Cotswold

We left Salisbury and on the way out visited Sacrum which is one of the oldest inhabited spots in England. It use to have a huge castle on it but eventually it fell into disuse and was dismantled for building materials. But among other things this is one of the castles King Henry II kept Eleanor of Aquitane imprisoned in. It was way cool to walk around and see the footings for the old castle and the castle walls and imagine Eleanor here. Their son Wicked King John kept court here too some times. There is just so much history to see. We visited Stourhead yesterday too which is where they filmed one of the scenes from the new Pride and Prejudice the one where Darcy proposed to Kiera Knightly in the rain. In was in this place's garden which by the way is many many acres and at the temple of Apollo which is in the middle of this huge garden. It was beautiful. Then we drove to Bath. We have been staying at a wonderful B & B run by Dave and Jo. They are a delightful couple (I'll splain it later) It was been really neat. So a few pictures of Bath especially for all you Jan Austen fans out there.

Royal Circle in Bath

The place where Jane lived with her parents for 3 years in Bath. ITs now a dentist office. Go figure

The Pump house for High Tea. (Herb tea for me) This was in Persuasion

Me trying on a corset and crinolans in the fashion museum.

Another of the rooms in Persausion (where they filmed the dances or social gatherings)

Visiting the Ancient ruins of the Roman baths. This was amazing and really worth the visit. And the guys appreciated the break from all the Jane Austen stuff.

Our sign for the day and lastly the Bed and Breakfast we are at (backyard view)

love to you all. We will blog again if we get internet at the next stop

Mom, your pinky is not out! If you want to be a proper tea-drinker you have to stick out the pinky.

That is definitely a "tea drinker" face-- so proper!! I am so jealous! (of the Jane Austen sites, not the tea:)

The Roman bath is GREEN! How did they keep it fresh? Or did they?

When bathing in those baths was the water that nice and green?? I am assuming it wasn't. Of course, they didn't have chlorine to clean it out after they all left, right? Ewwww.

I have actually seen Persuasion and the first thing I said when I saw the first picture was "Abby that was in the one show we saw on TV!"
