Less than a year later, Richard's mother, Sarah Shaw Stubbs, a widow, joined the church with his older brother, William, and siblings, Sarah, 14, John 9, and Ann 6, and came to Nauvoo by way of New Orleans, under the direction of Orson Hyde. Richard waited until the next April, 1843, came to Nauvoo, and was baptized in the Mississippi River. It only took him 2 months to meet and marry Ellander Ware.
That is really interesting. Makes me wonder if the mob hadn't broken it up, if he would have been interested a little sooner?
