A Fitting Tribute for Veterans Day

Last night Julie performed with the American Festival Chorus conducted by Craig Jessop in the Cathedral of the Madeline in honor of Veteran's Day.  They sang Benjamin Brittan's War Requiem.  It was a very moving experience. It was an incredible production with a children's chorus, guest soloists from the Metropolitan Opera and an orchestra. Jessop took only 150 of his 250 chorus to do this and they filled the nave and front of the cathedral.  I think it was an honor that Julie got picked to perform. It took a lot of practises and time we know, but we really appreciated it.

We took both grandmas, Rich and Janae.  Janae had studied Wilfred Owens poetry that is used in the Requiem and Rich observed Jessop's conducting style for his conducting class.
Thanks Julie for the experience and keeping us cultured! It was really wonderful. We are looking forward to more concerts.

I am so glad that you guys came-- I know it took a lot of time and effort and I appreciate that more than you know. Thanks for taking the time to appreciate it and learn about it, too. It's more fun for me when I can share those experiences with people I love! Thanks so much for coming to it!

I would have loved to ditch work on Friday and drive down. We don't get enough music. I am glad you got the experience.
