Running after Hobbits

On Wednesday we began to explore the Isle of Skye.  We are so far north it doesn't get dark till 11pm.  Everywhere is green and high rugged mountain hills.  We went on a hike yesterday in the Highlands.  You would have loved it. It was very much like Lord of the Rings stuff.  Sometimes I felt like Strider trying to find two Hobbits stolen by Soroman's goblins. Finally Keith really wanted to reach the summit and that involved going straight up and I bowed out. My acrophobia kicked in big time and I headed back  to the parking lot while the rest headed up to craigs and peaks and I warned them to look out for Shelob and Ring Wrathes (or however you spell that). Keith got his pictures and it was apparently spectacular. (You would have all gone and loved it) but the trip down was a bit hard.  Today we go to Dunvegan castle and hike along the ocean and go to Fairy pools.  I'll see what kind of photos we can get.
Ok I will try and post a few pictures now.  Internet is slow and spotty so it is kind of hard. (Thus the not so great video of the falcons, we have much better but it took a good 20 minutes to download that )
Dad at Eilean Donan. See movies Highlanders, James Bond etc.

ON the way to Helms Deep

More of the Hike

Where my Vertigo kicked it and I bowed out. The rest of you would have loved it!

What they climbed up to

Shaun the Sheep. These guys are everywhere. (and so cute!)

Our B & B.  Every house is white washed white like this.

The room and aahhh, getting off our feet
Love you all and wish so often you were here to see and enjoy this with us. Happy Birthday to Claire yesterday! We were thinking of you. love you all.

Wow. It is so beautiful there! My boys would love climbing and hiking there! I can imagine living in a castle, and just letting the kids run and explore all day.
