June was busy

Summer has been busy so far and that is why I didn't finish posting what happened in June.  Since June  ended Rich and Janae and girls have moved to Logan. But I will attempted to write up the last week of June.
Mark and I did get in a bike ride on the new Murdock bike trail.  We headed north this time.  It runs from Thanksgiving Point to the Provo Canyon trail. So we decided to see what was North.  It was really a fun ride.  We got all the way to Highland before we decided to head back.  We did 18 miles round trip. We decided we would try to go to Thanksgiving Point before the summer was gone completely.  Hopefully we will find the time to do that. But here are some shots of what we did do.

This is the pipe the canal now runs through under the trail.  Big huh?
Next a super heat wave hit and my bees have taken up residence outside the hive for the better part of the afternoon and evening.  Its called bearding and it has gotten so hot they actually cover up the front of the bottom two boxes lately. I have a thermostat in the top of the hive and it gets up to 108* some days.  Hard to believe I was worried about extreme cold this past winter.  But these little critters survive

The last week of June I headed up to Newton to take care of the Olsen clan while mom and dad did a Trek with their stake in Wyoming.  They were great ma's and pa's. Here are some shots of what we did that week.
 Before Trek...5AM
 We weeded
Walked the dog and got the mail
Made sure the chickens were ok.
 Played with the chickens

 Swam
 and swam
 snoozed
rode bikes and walked the dog
and weeded. (Julie has an incredible garden)
Then picked up a tired but happy Julie and Rich from Trek. I think personally one of the hardest parts had to be riding home on a school bus in 100 degree weather without air conditioning for 6 hours after no one on the bus had bathed for 3 days!
Any way I definitely had the best part. I loved being with the grandkids. They are super great.

I agree, the bus was rank-- 52 stinky people. Thanks for watching our kids! That bike ride you took with Dad looks like lots of fun, too.

The kids had a ball with you. Thanks again!!!
