We decided to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary in a big way this year. So we picked a city we always wanted to see and headed there. Charleston South Carolina was our pick and it was fun. I know we have shared a lot on Facebook so I won't bore you with much more. But one of the highlights was a sea kayaking trip we did on the Shem Creek Estuary and the Charleston Harbor. Gates was our guide and he knew a ton about the area since he grew up there and he loves it you can tell. He called me Miss Jan the whole time. So you all can just call me Miss Jan from now on. Fort Sumter was also fun and I learned a ton that nobody teaches you in school. Any way it was beautiful and fun and we had a great time so here are a few more pictures. We look forward to seeing you all this month at some point hopefully. We miss having kids and grandkids close.
Water front park. Wading is allowed
This is what cotton looks like. There has been a lot of rain this year and so it is late in growing
Only picture of dad on the water. He kept the camera. We were a little afraid of losing it in the ocean
Here is Gates our trusty leader.
Miss Jan herself. (farmer tanned arms and all!)
Our walk in the swamp. It was getting hot and humid!
Our room at the Inn.
And that is a wrap for now. Sure love you all. You are all a great part of that 40 years!
