| In the early 1500's, the McCloud clan was at this church holding services. The McDonalds attacked it when they heard singing and burned it to the ground. One small girl escaped and ran to the Castle Dunvegan, and raised the alarm. All died in the church except the little girl. The rest of the clan (presumably those not so devote) and slaughtered the attachers and pushed a dike wall over on them to bury them since they weren't entitled to be buried on holy ground. Of course, the McDonalds say that the McClouds trapped over 300 McDonalds in a cave and burned them alive in the cave so they were just getting even. |

| Modern graves: see the lichen on each, some have been cleared off by relatives so you can read them. Lichens are used to make dyes for wool and other things, or were, they are now endangered. |

Our family needs some enemies. It would make church so much more interesting if we always had to worry about being attacked during services.
I do always worry about being attacked at church-- last week Spencer gut kicked me.
Man-- those Scotch love to fight, don't they? Too much oatmeal, I guess. (They say that oatmeal ups mens' testosterone levels, thus the saying "He's just feeling his oats".....)
Did you buy some cool "wool" to knit with??? Looks like you have some bags-- I can't wait to see the spoils.
Yes, I'm commenting again...The pictures look like where I live-- rocky and rolling. I just have mountains in stead of the sea nearby. So pretty!
Hey, the title says "Where the fairies live," so where do they live?
The fairies live by the fairy pools, of course.
