Friday we spent the day island hopping. First to the Island of Cana then the island of Rum. I posted some pictures yesterday on Facebook because it is faster. Today we are at Glen Coe and there is much better reception. I'll try some video and pictures from yesterday. Today was mostly going on the ferry and then driving to our next destination, Glen Coe, another place where one group of Mck's tricked then killed another group om Mcks. (Better be careful "mick" is a racial slur, much like "ginger" is in Pocatello.)
We saw a sea eagle, puffins, a seagull called a "Fillmore" that vomits in your face as a defense mechanism, large cormorant cousin birds, and red deer who can swim across to the main land. Our guide, "Luke" said the government has been studying them for 60 years and still haven't learned enough, sarcastically, of course.
The stories of the people living on the islands are too complicated for a blog, but very interesting. We'll have to tell you when you come to visit. Here is a video of a Orchestra-tron or thron. The guy who built this inherited a fortune from his father and grandfather, who invented the automated loom and put thousands of people out of work. He spent his money living as the leisure class lives, buying lots of expensive things he didn't need, and then when he died, his wife just left it there and never came back.
Listen to our guide's accent. This why I started to video in the first place, the orchestra-ron was a bonus.
